1. Fill out required forms,
2. Provide us with proof of required vaccinations,
3. We will call you to schedule a temperament evaluation in conjunction with an all-day daycare. You will be charged for the all-day daycare fee,
In the temperament evaluation we...
1. Take all dogs out of the daycare area,
2. Let your dog check things out in the daycare area with only our attendant,
3. Then we bring another dog in while your dog and the other dog is on leash. Assuming all goes well,
4. We bring in a second and a third dog, all dogs on leash,
5. Then we drop leashes while attendants are with the dogs,
6. We add more dogs, one at a time,
7. We use treats and toys to see how the dog acts and if there are signs of treat aggression,
8. We monitor how things are going while other dogs sniff, play with, and have normal interaction,
9. At the end of the process, we give you a written report.
If things don't go well we will notify the owner early on and give option to pick up your dog. Our process uses Green, Yellow, and Red colors to define dog interaction. This will be explained to you and you will receive a written report at the end of the evaluation.
At Hot Diggity Dog Resort, we believe that a good daycare program should consist of social, physical, and mental development. And that is why the L.E.E.P. (Life Enrichment Education Program) was developed. LEEP is a membership program that helps to improve the lives of dogs and provides the peace of mind knowing your dog is getting the interaction s/he needs during time away from home. LEEP does more than put your dog in a cage with an occasional walk before you come to pick them up. LEEP members have every day filled with exercise and a wide range of other daily activities. The activities below are included with membership:
• Fit Paws: to gain balance control and increase core strength
• Brain Games: enhances focus, attention, and impulse control
• Special events, parties, and holiday photo opportunities: we enjoy special occasions and create events that your dog will enjoy
• Massage and aromatherapy: helps your pet use his/her natural senses
• Small group gatherings: this enables dogs to get to know other dogs and enhance their social skills
• Balance and core exercises: to help strengthen joints and muscles
• Training sessions: to teach commands
• Membership means inclusion in Daycare Games
• Special training for activities are part of your dog's daily stay at Hot Diggity Dog Resort
